When I was browsing through queer artworks from the Maghreb and the Middle East available on the Internet as well as during exhibitions, I often came across works from the Sham (Lebanon, Syria) until the day I discovered this sculpture of a man covered with calligraphic letters from the verse of Lot (Sodom and Gomorrah). Signed by the Sudanese artist, Ahmed Umar, this work marked me with the strength of its message. I welcomed him for a discussion and this is the first Middle East special! Ahlan Wa Sahlan
